Riverside Drive

The client wanted a modernist addition to the rear of their relocated Petone settlers house in Lower Hutt. This increased the size of the house, adding an additional bedroom for a growing family as well providing living spaces that flow out to a north west facing backyard.

​We carefully considered how the different form and styles of the existing house and addition would fit together. The design was developed by testing how the furniture could be arranged in this relatively modest addition. We were able to brace the building without expensive engineering and have a simple roof without internal gutters.
